The botanical and commodity characteristics are given, the physiological functions of calamus root indicated. methods used to study its quantitative qualitative composition nutrients, including physiologically active substances antiradical activity, given. general chemical is investigated, results mineral presented, it established that rich in potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, as well trace elements manganese, iron, molybdenum, which perform important human body. calculation percentage satisfaction daily need for individual minerals was carried out, found belongs functional food ingredients, since satisfies SNP by more than 15% minerals. It has been shown contains a significant amount vitamins C, B2, E, β-carotene. organic acids, phenolic compounds carbohydrates indicating release time values chromatogram profiles. antioxidant activity original sample ranges from 37.7 47.4%, depending on extractant, heat treatment reduces 5.8-6.7%. conducted studies allow us consider plant ingredient nutrient mixture.
